“The garbanzo bean (chickpea) miso paste offers a lighter, sweeter flavor, compared to our traditional soybean miso while still holding the deep umami flavor that miso has to offer. Our garbanzo miso is a Sugiyama Family favorite and is regularly used in their household.

The garbanzo miso is also a great alternative to those who cannot consume soy.

Fermented for a minimum of 7 months--each batch varies in color depending on fermentation time. This miso is also ALIVE. We do not kill off our rice yeast, so it will continue to ferment if you do not stick it in the refrigerator.”
